What is a Dental Veneer?
Veneers are thin pieces of durable, tooth-shaped porcelain that are custom-made in a dental lab to match the shape and colour of your teeth.
At Pacifica Dental, our dentists use veneers to create a more uniform smile for our patients. Your dentist bonds the restoration to the front of your natural tooth to change the symmetry, shape, or colour of your smile.
How Veneers Work
Your dentist will take an impression of your teeth which will then be used to create your custom veneers.
Once your veneers have been made, they will be bonded to the fronts of your natural teeth.
Made from a razor-thin piece of porcelain, veneers are custom-shaped to match your tooth. The porcelain imitates the natural translucency of tooth enamel and has a very natural look and feel.
Features of Veneers
If you are looking to alter the shape of individual teeth or the symmetry of your whole smile, you may want to consider dental veneers as a less-intrusive alternative to dental crowns.
Conditions that dental veneers can resolve include worn, crooked, or discoloured teeth. They can also change the size of your teeth and reduce unwanted spacing.
If cared for properly, dental veneers can last for many years.
